Concourse House

All-Weather Pavilions

We collaborated with Material Bureau, Mattaforma, Studio For, and Walter P. Moore on a project to create outdoor learning and gathering spaces for the garden of Concourse House, a transitional housing shelter for mothers with young children. We are developing art and design workshops for residents of the building that explore the senses in outdoor environments. The design interventions are in the form of a pavilion for outdoor learning that explores the effects of filtered light, a covered structure for sitting in the garden that explores sound, and a table-stage gathering space focused on enjoying taste from food grown in planting beds.
